Crash recovery
If ADCode closes unexpectedly, your unsaved typing is still there when it opens again.
When you would want it
Crashes and power cuts happen, and losing an hour to one is miserable.
Where to find it
- All Features → Crash recovery
- Settings → adcode.session.crashRecovery
What you get out of it
- A power cut costs seconds, not an hour.
- Works even for files you never saved at all.
- Plays well with workspace restore - tabs and layout come back too.
How to use it, step by step
- There is nothing to do beforehand - backups of unsaved buffers are kept continuously.
- If ADCode closes unexpectedly, simply reopen it.
- It offers your unsaved work back, file by file.
- Accept what you want; your editor returns to where the interruption found you.
Why this beats the usual way
Editors that autosave to temp files often restore silently or not at all; either extreme surprises you. Here recovery is explicit - it asks, shows what it has, and never writes recovered content over your files uninvited.
