Isolated AI edits
The assistant works in a separate copy of your project. Your real files change only after you review them, with a way back kept first.
When you would want it
A model can make a useful mistake very quickly. Isolation lets it read its own edits and keep working without putting unfinished or conflicting changes into the project you are using.
Where to find it
- All Features → Isolated AI edits
- Settings → adcode.ai.isolatedWorkspaces
How to use it, step by step
On by default.
- The assistant shows the task state, changed files, and Review button.
- Accept individual hunks, discard the sandbox, or roll an applied task back.
- Turning this off keeps chat available but disables the built-in file tools.
Why this beats the usual way
Most AI editors rent you a subscription, choose your models, and take a margin on every token. ADCode connects to the provider you pick - major labs, a gateway, or a model on your own machine - stores your key in your OS keychain, keeps conversations on your disk, and shows you exactly what its memory holds.
