ADCode

Isolated AI edits

The assistant works in a separate copy of your project. Your real files change only after you review them, with a way back kept first.

When you would want it

A model can make a useful mistake very quickly. Isolation lets it read its own edits and keep working without putting unfinished or conflicting changes into the project you are using.

Where to find it

  • All Features → Isolated AI edits
  • Settings → adcode.ai.isolatedWorkspaces

How to use it, step by step

On by default.

  1. The assistant shows the task state, changed files, and Review button.
  2. Accept individual hunks, discard the sandbox, or roll an applied task back.
  3. Turning this off keeps chat available but disables the built-in file tools.

Why this beats the usual way

Most AI editors rent you a subscription, choose your models, and take a margin on every token. ADCode connects to the provider you pick - major labs, a gateway, or a model on your own machine - stores your key in your OS keychain, keeps conversations on your disk, and shows you exactly what its memory holds.
